CAT FLEAS

I treated both my cats on Friday with Frontline and also had the house treated by the local council. So can anyone tell me why they both STILL have fleas? TIA

Somebody`s bound to tell you that fleas are becoming immune to Frontline but my vet disputes that. Maybe they are. My vet said that if the cat has fleas, the house will have fleas and they jump back onto the animal. Maybe these are the fleas you have seen. In theory they should then die if the animal has been treated.

Because Frontline doesn't work. Fleas have become immune to it. Google FL not working if you don't believe me. Go to your vet and get either Stronghold or Advocate. Sorry you have wasted your money.

237 My vet won't stock it because she is sick of the complaints. She doesn't get them with any other treatment. I have had experience of this and found out the hard way. My poor cat was driven demented by fleas despite being drenched in FrontLine over a period of 3 weeks. And so was my neighbour's dog. Bought Advocate and never had a flea since.

Frontline works by getting into the cat`s oil glands and my vet said the problem isn`t so much that the fleas are immune but that it`s difficult to get all of it onto the skin so that the animal gets the full dose. Frontline works perfectly for my mum`s cat but then the cat is very obliging and just sits there and lets you apply the Frontline (she even purrs while I do it).
