took her to the doctors yesterday as she woke up with a raised temp and look miserbale having spent most of the night crying. All clear just a virus-later in the day it turned to full on snots and she spent most of the day asleep on the sofa bed (living room is the only room i can keep warm). Kept her regularly dosed on alternates between calpol and neurofen and she slept pretty well all night few wake ups but not needing me to go to her. BUT shes hardly eaten, i have triead tempting her with her favourite foods the only thing shes vaguely interested in is my biscuits!Shes drinking plenty and im giving her milkshake to drink as its got added vitamins and minerals. What can i tempt her with? Triead chicken drummers choclate mouse, noodles, food from my plate, pasta and cereal. Her belly is rumbling but im shtuck!

Don't worry if she doesn't want to eat for a few days as long as she in drinking. If she fancies your biscuits then let her eat them. She will be on the mend soon and eating again. Kids bounce back very quickly.
As long as she is drinking plenty I really wouldn't worry just yet
A rumbling tummy isn't necessarily a sign of hunger - she is eating, just not as much cos she is ill
Have you tried smoothies, they often work when nothing else does, especially if she is drinking and not eating.
It's quite normal not to eat if you feel ill so as lottie etc said as long as she's drinking then don't worry too much- and let her have your biscuits if that's all she fancies- certianly won't do her any harm.

just found some yoghurt tubes in the fridge and gave her one, she wanted another shes running warm again so just had some calprufen she likes the new fruit juice cartons from iceland so may pick her up some today. I just worry because normally she would me out of house and home lolx
after all if she's really snotty she will probably be sick if she has too much
Question Author
the doctor said she may be sick but she seems more herself, except the lack of eating, today just very squeaky and snotty.
Don't worry about it. Have you never felt poorly and not wanted to eat?
Question Author
true
Personally I would not give her anything that is milky!! It can make you sick and isn't the best thing to drink when you are off colour or have a snotty, squeaky illness.

Don't worry about the nutrition side of things for a few days. Let her drink squash or weak fruit juice - much better than milk when you are off colour.
I agree...milk and dairy can add to the snottiness, and congestion-along with what it can do to the tummy.

It matters not what you give her or don' t give her to eat.
Question Author
