Update on Rover
I thought that you lovely ABers might like to know how Rover is. We went back to the vet on Wednesday, and it seems - miraculously - that for now, he's OK. He's been taken off his kidney medication, he's eating voraciously, drinking, weeing and pooing as normal - no sickness, which was his main symptom.
He was quite weak when he came home but is gaining strength, and has already regained half of the weight he'd lost while away. His fat tail was a skinny sad thing but is growing back. The pads on his feet are still quite sore but will improve. He's spending most of his time sleeping and eating, which sounds nice to me!
The other catz are much more tolerant of him that they were before he went away - there's still some grumbling but all three catz sleep in the same room now, which is amazing.
We still can't believe it, given his previous state of health - we really thought he'd have faded away by now, but he hung on in there, bless him, and we are so lucky that the person who found him did the right thing and took him to the vet. The CPL have written to the local paper this week, telling his story, to advocate the benefits of microchipping - had he not been chipped, we'd never have been reunited.
He seems very glad to be back!
