Well it is the "winter of discountent."
And only 368 days till next Christmas!
And sometimes it's an advantabge being an insomniac, I shall be in Sainsburys at around 4am in the morning with the OH's list!
We went to Asda this morning. Told Mr Alba we'd be fine if we kept our sense of humour. It was bursting at the seams.
In my defence tho, a lot of it was for son's birthday on Boxing Day.
Dont go to Tesco New Malden from now on until next week. Over an hour waiting in car park to get out and then couldn't get onto bypass as road closed. No one from Tesco to help, back gate open as well but queues ridiculous. Go by bus but not by car to New Malden is my advice. Took one and a half hours to get home to Tolworth.
We went into town today and it was surprisingly quiet!!! The supermarket on the otherhand was a nightmare! Luckily we were only there because eldest mini Wingnut was bagpacking to raise money for young carers so me and the youngest mini Wingnut picked up a few things. Your correct in what you say about keeping a sense of humor Alba! We took our time, didn't attempt to push past people, smiled sweetly & apologised if we accidently got in the way and the whole thing was a breeze! Even had our bags packed by a pretty young lady :o)

Of course I was only grabbing a few things that I needed to cook and glaze my ham with this afternoon. I left the rest of the list for Mr Wingnut to pick up on his way home from work this afternoon. Well, I'm not totally stupid lol! Merry Christmas everyone x

and why do people feel that its a good idea to leave the trolley in the middle of the aisle blocking it for anyone to get past while they go up and down the aisle collecting things in thier arms, then turn to the nearest person and say, "the queues down here are ridiculous
oooh gina, don't get me started. The other one is the trolley at an angle instead of having flush against the side of the aisle.

On the bright side, whilst at the checkout I was chatting to a 'Snow Q here' sign holder. she was reet petite. Couldn't they have employed someone taller? She was full of beans and very pleasant.
I've just been bag packing in Morrisons with the Air Cadets - the woman on the till told me if I didn't get my sprouts soon, there'd be none left, she was right!

All we need now is cheese, and dates - we'll go to Tesco tomorrow!
with the amount of folk in watrose,1 wonders where the lack of money's gone?!went to get biscuits & gave up,went to co-op nearly empty of shoppers!!!

i also went to the co-op and i was empty
Well last year I did ALL my shopping on Christmas Eve. It was an absolute doddle because there was no one about. Am hoping for a similar experience tomorrow.
I have been doing the 'last bits' in the Co-op for quite a number of years now, wont go in a big shop during the week before christmas.
