Why is it colder .....

.....just before dawn? Got up an hour ago for a cuppa -0.9, an hour later its a degree colder. Why is that please? TIA

This happens because sunrise triggers sctions in the water cycle such as condensation. These need enegy, which comes from the surrounding environemtn, so the ambient temp goes down.
The coldest hour (is just before the dawn.) According to akia.
And the darkest hour is just before the dawn according to The Mamas and Paapas!
JJ I was going to post that but didn't know if anyone would 'get it' Dedicated to the one I love.
Missprim, "getting it" may reveal your age!
I remember that
In the first hour or so after dawn the initial gradual heating causes some mixing of the air in the lowest levels. This takes energy out of the system hence cools the air. It's nothing to do with wind water or anything else.
