Do you mean for a human? In general terms I would guess it's the blue whale but I could be wrong.
Supposedly the heaviest baby (at birth) was 10.2 kg (or 22.5 lbs), which quite frankly is bloody enormous, but I have no info to support this!!
According to the Guinness Book of Records the heaviest baby ever born weighed 29 lbs 4 oz. The birth occurred in Effingham IL (USA) in 1939 and due to respiratory problems the baby died two hours later. The heaviest babies to survive weighed 22.5 lbs and were born in 1955 and 1982.

I have to say 'youch!'

Oh my god thats huge!! My friend had an 11lb baby and she lost so much blood and had so many stitches ... the baby even dislocated his shoulder because the birth was such a struggle!
BLOODY HELL that would bring a tear to the eye i'm sure.....any reasons why the kids were such porkers?
My grandad weighed a stone when he was born, his mother went blind for a week afterwards. His parents were both quite small, and his elder brother is small too, however my grandad grew to 6"7, so it is a mystery as to why people can give birth to huge babies.
diabetes can cause big babies! as for the dislocated shoulder, normally it doesn't get that far as babies too big for the pelvis are normally spotted and go out the sunroof! it's called shoulder dystocia.
Ask Liz Hurley or Jordan...they have got the biggest babies I have ever seen!
My wife has today had a ceasarian birth of a baby boy, Kristian Luke weighing in at 12lb 8 oz !! She was pretty pleased she didn't have him naturally !!!
dazmac - congratulations from all on the site!
