Trying to remember name of female childrens tv presenter!

yesterday we were all having a few drinks and a laugh, and my nubbie said when he was 11/12 he had a soft spot for a female kids presenter. all he can remember is that she looked early 20's, had dark shortish hair, and thinks she had an irish name or maybe an irish accent.and that apparently he pointed her out to my years ago on telly and I burst out laughing and said she looked like a pixie, but I dont remember that! does she ring any bells with anybody?? she would prob be about 50 now??
