Unfortunately a heart problem has caused me to be off work for the last 31 weeks, first time I've been off sick in 41 years. I had to go and see the DeptWorks&Pensions who said I would be going on Incapacity Benefit because I've been off and run out of SSP (28 WEEKS ) I can't find out if I can get help with other benefits ( Dental, medicines, etc etc) ANY HELP

Thanks very much woofgang. It look like it may help Thanks again
you are welcome
It depends if you are on Incapacity benefit alone or if it is combined with Income support, If on Incapacity Benefit alone I don't think there is any help but you should have received a leaflet weth your payment or decision notice which would tell you how to claim any o
ther entitlements.
You may however be entitled to claim diabled living allowance, there is a freephone number in the telephone directory 0845 712 3456, Remember when filling the claim form in that over the last 31 weeks you have adapted your lifestyle to cope, don't try to make out you are able to do things you really struggle to do.
Post again or reply if you want further help
If you are over 60 prescriptions are free for either sex, sorry I'm not sure if you have reached this age or not

Thanks Sandbach I'm 55 not any other benefit then incapacity. Yes a booklet came today IB40 it looks like I will not get any help with any cost. Thank you for your help
If like me you're not entitled to any other benefits, and you need a number of medicines you should consider buying a prepayment certificate at around 33 for 4 months prescriptions. You will easily recoup the cost of paying for each individual item.
Best wishes.
