On that link there seems to be a post of what he actually said. Some of it is out of context.

I'm not defending him though, the catholic church is a disgusting establishment in my opinion. (I'm not mad keen on any religion in fairness).

as far as I can see what he said was broadly correct. But the headline on the story would impress even the Daily Mail editor with its inaccuracy. He doesn't say it's not that bad. He doesn't say it was ever normal.

However...would never EVER condone anything like that...and think anyone who ever even considered touching a child should be bloody shot...

Seems it happens more in Ireland RC churches than elsewhere. My bruvs went to catholic schools & they confirm no abuse was apparent, they were also altar boys & in the choir.

I dont think Rome was aware of the abuse at the time and if they were, the RC church is not above regional law that could/should have applied.
