Christmas Eve.
That morning I got a phone call from my daughter asking if I would like to come for tea.
I said I would, and asked her what were we having.
Shepherds Pie with veg.
Daughter asked if I would be going near any shops where I could get her some mints.
Yes I said, I have to go to Tesco for some last minute things and could get her mints from there.
Daughter is expecting second child and suffers from lots of wind so I decided to get her a packet with 7 tubes of mints in it.
Arrived at daughters and gave her the mints.
Daughter,'What are these for?'
Me, 'You asked me to get you some mints.'
Daughter, 'What did I say we were having for tea?'
Me,'Shepherds Pie?'
Daughter,'And what do I need to make a Shepherds Pie?'
Me,'Potatoes, carrots......pause for thought.......Mince?'
Ooops!

Craftypig she does it all the time.Usually it's 'I'll cook tea can you bring something for afters!'
Yep, Mr Boo did this to me, except the other way round, many moons again. He was nipping to Asda and asked if I wanted owt, yes I replied "get me some mints for work later on"....I got a tray of mince, quite what he thought I was going to do with that at work i've no idea.
So she asks you round for dinner, but expects you to bring the main and most expensive ingredient.

Kids. What are they like?
A traveller arrives in a village, with few possessions save a large cooking pot. When she begs for food, each of the villagers says no. Resigning herself, she fills the pot with water, places it over a fire in the village square, and drops a large stone into it. When one of the villagers asks what she is doing, she says "I'm making stone soup." She tastes it and says "Mmmmm, it's almost perfect. It just needs some salt." The villager runs home for some salt, and it gets added to the soup. When another villager asks what's happening, the traveller says "Our soup is almost ready. It just needs some carrots." This villager runs home for some carrots. As more and more villagers are attracted to the events, they are each willing to add to the soup. A delicious and nourishing pot of soup is prepared, and enjoyed by all!!!

I think that traveller could have been my daughter. It's probably how she first started :-)
