SUNDAY WORLDS JUMBO CROSSWORD 2011 - FNAL CLUE
8 Answers
Final clue Sunday World Jumbo Crossword. Any help appreciated.
82a. Surname of the protagonist in 'Open All Hours' (5 letters) - up against a cartoon so no room for six letters).
?A?E?
Feeling the answer should be Barker???? Anybody else any views? Have I missed a cue somewhere? Reasonably satisfied answers around it are correct.
Spent hours doing this crossword. Not impressed with Sunday World. Closing date for entries is ''first post 31st'' ie...Saturday, ie no post in Dublin.
The entry form is printed in black!
Generally, a very sloppy effort on their part.
Sunday Express not much better. Quiz published on 18th closing date December 29th...except postal restrictions 'last dates for posting etc' mean there is no post from one of those dates to the other between Ireland and UK!
The Sunday Business Post and The Irish Times and Phoenix all treated their readers outside the cities with a bit of respect.

My E comes from Vince Vaughn as star of film Fred Claus
The A comes from Pass the Parcel as clue 'children's game where players sit ina circle'
Anyway, protagonist has a specific dictionary meaning...which only Ronnie Barker meets in thats series.
The final laugh is that Sunday World says 'no correspondence can be entered into.'
