I was standing in the doorway corridor when a young girl stood up and offered me her seat. I was embarrased as I didn't think I looked old so I thanked her and said I was only going one stop. It's my white hair that is the giveaway , used to be dark brown almost black.

in m opinion no ones elderly unless they felll old. i have a 72 year old mate, and she is quicker than me on her feet, and always on the move. she does not feel old, therefore she is not elderly. Arrabella, your not elderly, sometimes when you are a bit older and go to your GP, instead of being helpful to put things right, the say'oh as your an elderly lady, you should expect some pains etc' or if you been trying for a baby for 2 years and your 31 they day'oh your too young for treatment, keep trying, its your age' you cant win!!!! dont let them get to you.xx
Yes you have to apply for a Senior Rail Card, you can do it online,
You have to pay for it as well, £28, but as you get 33% off fares it doesn't take long to get that back and start saving money. My OH has one as well, we travel from Deal to London quite a few times a year, and think they're well worth having.
