AVG question
I have got AVG for a month trial, which is shortly to end. They keep asking if I wish to buy. I thought it was going to be free for longer. What do I do?

Though personally I'd not bother with AVG and go for Microsoft security essentials.

Thanks Al and Chuck.I have had a look and it says:
Click the Start button , right-click Computer, and then click Properties.
If Service Pack 1 is listed under Windows edition, SP1 is already installed on your computer.
It is installed, but do I need to do anything else? Can I delete the AVG thing now?

Close that .. that's system info ..
(though you 'should' be on SP2 or SP3 if you are using XP)
Control Panel/Add Remove Programs .. remove .. AVG then reboot
Install from here if is what you require ...
