COMPUTER SCREEN PROBLEM

Found out a bit more about it. The screen now is black when the computer is on.I switch screen off/on and it comes on perfectly for a second then goes black again..Iv'e checked all the connections and they are ok. Iv'e switched computer off/on several times and still the same. Just turned screen off/on for umteenth time and it STOPPED ON,so I am entering this in the hope of getting an answer to the prob!!! John

It's still VERY likely to be the monitor.
Borrow another one to try.

I will take the monitor next door and see if they have any problems with it...I have got an idea that it's not the monitor though,and if that's the case it will be a new computer.....What would you suggest,laptop or desk?I only use it for buying, looking for hols, insurance and printing off the odd offer of a cheapie meal from the pub we go to...Thanks, Johnt
