Water As Fuel

Can someone refresh my memory? What was the name of the genius who found how to use water as fuel in his car? I believe he was Australian.....

There have been a number of claims from different folk to be able to run a vehicle of water. But I'm guessing, given the market isn't swamped with such an invention, they still use more energy to split water into hydrogen & oxygen, then they get out from using the result as fuel.

My mistake! I suppose whoever does if ever, will be a genius! Although, I wonder if such a breakthrough would rival electric?

If we were to run cars etc on water as fuel we'd be living in a very humid atmosphere probably needing waterproof clothing and so don't see it a solution
