Have just read the book my health visitor gave me. To quote what it says
"you should aim to give your child 350ml (12oz) of milk a day but If your baby doesn't like milk give at least 2 servings of full fat yoghurt and cheese or milk-based dishes (eg cheese sauce, rice pudding etc) a day. this will provide calcium for healthy bones."
I think perhaps if it was me i would speak to my health visitor, she will put your mind at ease and offer you some good advice. or you could leave it for a few days then try her again with the milk. she may just take to it again then.

My eldest son, 9yrs now ,hated milk. Even as a breastfed baby, he hardly drank any - as a bottled fed baby, he would have it only when he was physically starving ....sometimes he would go for 7 hours without a drop and he was only 2 months old!! As soon as he was solid fed, he refused milk totally! I made sure he had plenty of yogurt, cheese and any foodstuffs with the magic word 'calcium' written on the packaging.
As a 9 yr old, he will have milk on his cereal but leave the excess in the bottom of the bowl. As for having a glass of milk, no way! Baby no.2, who is now 2 yrs, liked his bottles but when he became solid fed - he stopped milk, except for his bedtime bottle!!

My daughter is severely allergic to all dairy products and not has not had any since she was about 4 months old. She drinks Rice milk (available tesco, sainsburies, somerfield etc) and it has added calcium. She is absolutely fit as a fiddle.
Another good calcium source is tinned sardines (with the bones left in) tinned macaral too and pilchards
Also very green leafy veg, broccoli, cabbage etc. the dairy free yoghurts have it in too, and so does margerine and butter etc.
