Is it true that manufacturers have added or removed some chemical from cigarettes so that they go out instead of burning down?

Not sure about that- When I used to smoke, it was definitely the case that rollups would go out, if not continually nursed, as it were, whereas your axual cigarette would merrily burn down to the filter -and chemicals were added to the paper of cigarette to ensure a smooth, continual burn.

Someone said it was to stop fires from careless cigarettes. Someone else said manufacturers had removed saltpetre, and someone else that it is a ploy to make smolers buy more (even more dangerous to relight an 'out' cigarette).

EU regulations is the recorded answer on their complaints line. Health an Safety, it's hard to keep them lit while smoking and if you set them in an ashtray yhey go out.

Yes, they have. I only know as the Cigarette lady who comes and does "stuff" to our kiosk told me so the other week and gave me paperwork regarding it.

Fourteen deaths in Australia anually from fires started by cigarettes. The implementation is obviously long overdue.
As per Huffington Post - can we now expect changes to the composition of chip fat/oil?

Funnily enough, I'VE just noticed this happening. I thought it was because I had changed my brand to a slightly cheaper one.

Yes they have, I noticed this with my brand about 6 months ago.
