Lottie, I've always had stick from people because (in their eyes) I'm a really slow eater.
I don't think I am, I just eat at my own pace, chew my food properly and enjoy it. If I try to eat any faster I just feel stuffed within a few mouthfuls.
More often now though, there seem to be reports telling you to eat slowly as it has a number of benefits, one of which is to help recognise when you are full thereby helping you to stay slim. In my own case, I've never been overweight so I think there's something in it.
How some people eat so fast is absolutely beyond me. Within minutes some wolf down their food then look at my plate and ask if I've even started! I am actually very self-conscious about how long I take to eat but cannot change and certainly do not want to, I just wish everyone else would slow down to my pace!
