thanks again katburd = i thought of both = but i have ?a?a? = after i put in fair deal = so none of the 2 rivers go with that = i wonder if it might be laser

20a university publication (3,3) i think is rag mag - if so laser is wrong as i get an a as the 4th letter and i have an a as the 2nd letter from fair deal

suki I have googled and out of the two rivers suggested could it not be" tagus"
if its cryptic clue you can get tagus from out of stadium of lightm just a suggestion :)

hi again katburd = i think tagus is right as you say but it does not fit with rag mag = i think it may be something like duc mag = a particular college mag
