DVD remote handset - any recommendations?

Since a Christmas drink entered our old handset it has refused to work. I've opened and cleaned / dried / reassembled and still dead as a dodo. So I need to buy a remote that will work with our old TDS dvd player - bought years ago. The 'universal' handset I got yesterday is going back today as it doesn't follow it's own instructions let alone make the dvd player work.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
We're happy having the TV and dvd on separate handsets so I just need a handset, like the dead one, that just works on the dvd.
Or even one that just works.....

you could probably but a new dvd with a remote for the cost of a new remote.

loads of different remotes on ebay. Just type in make of dvd then search.

Thanks Futri, it's actually getting one that works with the machine that's the issue.....

worth a look if you see it is same as you had should work. I replaced one from ebay when the dog chewed ours.
