Did anyone watch this. I felt so sorry for her. Her husband was obviously a feeder. He could have helped her so much. It was very difficult to tell which part of her body you were looking at, I have never seen anything like this before.

How awful for the poor woman, I didn't see it but seen similar programmes. The man should know better I think but I guess it's like an illness when they are "feeders"...can't imagine what it's like for her and him is anyone going to help her at all?

She was admitted to hospital and had extensive treatment and (I think) she lost 34 stone. It is an on going problem.

I am 20 stone and find that walking any distance or standing for any time causes pain. 74 stone would make it impossible for her to get around.

What was the final outcome of the trial?

Sister admitted she had done it. She had covered up for sister until sister became pregnant again, She (Im sorry can't remember he name) decided she ould not cover up for sisters abuse of children any longer. Sister was found guilty and im prisonned for 15 years (I think)

Thanks - after reading a short article about the murder I tried to find out what had happened but there was nothing that I could find.

The big lady was too fat to have been mobile enough to commit the crime.

What an end to a toddlers life. :-(

Where feeders are involved it can be a huge problem. I've seen some documentries before on this and it's quite horrific. My wife used to weigh 24st, but got into the early programmes of gastric banding and the like, she's lost over 12st had all the ensuing plastic surgery and now looks fantastic and is very happy. However, to get into that programme locally now, you need a bmi of over 60 PLUS underlying health issues. Now I'm no lightweight 19st and need to lose a few but even just to get reffered to a dietician for support you need a bmi of over 50.

Don't the NHS realise by tackling this issue early they could prevent endless issues with people later in life...mental!

What got to me was that initially the reporters said if 74 stone woman was guilty, state of Texas, capital puishment = execution.

Sister admitted to lesser charge of 'wounding' the child (or something similar) got 15 years in jail which she would probably serve 3 years!!!!

I watched this last night
I did feel sorry her in some way, but it is all her own fault she got that big. Even with a feeder husband, it is still her fault

The programme finished by saying she had lost 34 stone! Can you imagine that?! I hope she continues to lose the weight so she can at least get around under her own steam ..

She seemed like a really nice lady and wasn't at all in denial about her situation. Her husband just seemed like he loved her very much. Sadly at her size, even shifting half her weight she is still going to have huge problems. She'll have to have numerous operations for the excess skin to start with. To be honest, it's a wonder she is even still alive. I do hope she manages to get her life back to some extent. As this was filmed up to the end of Nov 11 there obviously won't be much change since then but I hope they do a follow up in a couple of years.

I watched it and part of me did feel sorry for her to get to that extreme size it just beggars belief,from the begining of the programme I was sure she was covering up something she couldnt move at all really without help most of the weight was behind her so to just fall on the boy seemed unlikely.If she had done it then what good would jail have done take away her tv and she was already there...It would be interesting to know what they would have done as a reporter said if she is guilty they will find a way to acccomodate her,its unlikely to ever come up again as its hard to commit a crime if you cant move from your bed.

I saw this too. Whilst I thought her and her hubby (feeder or not) appeared to be quite gulliable, I found it hard to have sympathy for her; she protected her sister, knowing the wrong she had done; owning up when she fell pregnant is just not good enough, what about her responsibility to her other nieces/nephews? The sister only owned up to flee her thug hubby, not because she'd any remorse for what she'd done. I also think the big woman should do some jail time for the cover up/wasting police time etc. As for her obesity, well OJR2 has stated, she put the food in her mouth... If anything, I admired the complete & utter dedication & devotion her husband showed in her personal care, couldn't be easy given that he was no lightweight himself.

I have just watched this program this morning, as it was filmed over a few years, I could'nt help but notice how the Husbands weight went up each time You saw Him.

I think if it was a normal case then she would have been prosecuted for the cover up,perverting the cause of justice or whatever its called,but Im just wondering what would be the point of jailing her at that size they would have spent more time moving her from jail to hospital with all her problems and who would have wanted to care for like the husband would have. Im not saying no punishment just that they would've had to think of a new one,the whole point of imprisonment is that you have no freedom, they said she was under house arrest at the start where exactly did they think she would go anyway given you need to demolish a wall and have a team of men just to get her out.

But however much she loses weight, when she gets home, her husband will feed her up again surely? Will she have the willpower to stop eating it all ? And three years for the murder of that little boy, I didn't think the USA was as soft as the UK. What happened to the sister's other children? Wasn't the sister's husband a pimp and a drug dealer?

My husband and I watched the programme too, we were amazed that her bum cheeks weighed 8stone each. I did feel sorry for her as she is a prisoner in her own body, i cant imagine what that must feel like. I do hope she continues to loose weight and is able to walk again.

I watched this too, I was astonished to hear that her buttocks weighed 8 stone EACH! I felt so sorry for her, she is a prisoner in her own body - god only knows what this must feel like. Her husband must really love her to do all the bathing and changing of her on a daily basis. I do hope she gets all the care she needs and is able to eventually walk again.
