To end a 3 year drouth...

It depends, if the drought was because of alcohol dependency then I would stick to coffee, if not then probably a nice single malt whisky.

If I was going to end my drought (7 or 8 years - can't remember when I stopped), I'd reach for a bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale.

After three years sandy I'd stick with abstaining. Send the Laphroaig to me and I'll dispose of it so you won't be tempted again. I'm sure one of the other kind will look after the Guinness for you. If you must give in to temptation enjoy the scotch.
