Have they no shame ?
Maybe I should not have thrown away my Gary Glitter signed album from the early 70s.
Should have followed the Royal example and however tarnished a free gift is always ok to keep.

Can argue with that Sirandy, whats make it worse, they are not even means rested on these state handouts & they are worth millions with their palaces full of looted swag.

Yet the poor sods who have to survive on meagre benefits are castigated as immoral spongers.

Should we return the royal crown of India? Currently worth over 4 million pounds and stored with, but not part of the crown jewels?
-- answer removed --
" the uk would have no crown jewels ", oh my, now that would be a problem .
The OP doesn't like the nobs and their ways......(despite, curiously, having affixed SIR to his name).
i dont understand the benefit scroungers bit?
He seems to be having guilt issues related to his gary glitter album. It may have something to do with the signing? As in signing on?
i'm even more confused, i think i shall go read posts by elderman in r&s, they might make more sense

The Royal family are on state handouts ...In my view that is the same as benefits. Worth millions if not billions , however still take money from the state.
Someone who accepts gifts on the back of someone else's cost is a scrounger.
ie It was a state funded trip.
Yes. Get rid of them. And what will you do with your additional 60p per annum?
but they do work, ok its not the same as sitting in an office 9-5 or working on a construction site etc etc

and i'm not a big fan of the royal and i know they are extrememly privilged but they do work

benefit scroungers are the assholes who take out but never put in and i dont; think you can accuse betty of that
Question Author
I could at least have the choice what to do with my 60p a year.
I don't remember being given the vote on if I wanted to fund them or not ...even if it is only 60p a month.
But if it comes to it ...I would pop my 60p into a charity box and let the money go to a cause that needs it.
Bless...........you really DO have the grumblies, don't you?
Question Author
They create there own work , to justify there existence.
Simple as that.
Question Author
@JTH - Nope not really. It's just that they annoy me. But hey ho , I'm not the only one it seems. A few MP's feel the same and the popular press have picked up on it also.
When the old Greek fella pops his clogs , will we get a day off ?
still work though and having to be nice and smiley all day, has got to be hard hard work, i'd last about 10 mins and that's pushing it

I don't know much about the royal family but I saw a special on Prince Charles and he seemes like a genuine article. Charity and good works is how the Royal family came across and that they spend a great deal of time and effort doing just that. Charles seems like a guy worth knowing even if he seems sad.
