IPad winner

Is anyone else getting these annoying popups saying you are today's IPad winner every time you log into AB? I've been studiously ignoring them, though I could have had a drawerful of the things by now?

Yes. Not every time though. It`s been happening since I clicked on a link that someone put on here (I can`t remember what it was). I thought I`d got rid of them with a scan but it appears not.

I have my popup blocker set to 'medium' - should I set it to block all popups or will this cause problems? Never heard of an ad-blocker, MarkRae - is it something different and where do I find it??

Thanks MarkRae - will look into that. If everyone uses these won't it hurt sites (such as AB) that depend on advertising??

you may also have inadvertently downloaded some adware

As a Mac user I have never had a problem until this annoying IPad Winner ad keeps dancing around the page. Driving me nuts and it's annoying me that I will have to download some software for one bl00dy ad on one site.

I do get these things along with other adverts on AB....just thought they were part of the scene here........has any one of you guys actually clicked on it..and did you get your "winnings"?...mmm.....I wonder?

I installed Adblock at the end of Nov 2011, I am now getting a pop-up telling me the daily adblock limit has been reached and I need to download something else, and the ads are back.
I'm loathe to download the 'improved' version in case it's as enduring as the first one.

I clicked on one of these out of curiosity and in order to get your 'free' item you are rquired to fill in a survey and then subscribe to one or other of their products ie,insurance,magazine etc(can't remember all the details.It was a while ago.) for a minimum period of x amount of months.It generally works out at 100's of pounds.just an advertising scam really
