Hi, Can anyone help with these festive dingbats? All have some connection with Christmas eg song, carol, food, film etc. Any help would be appreciated.
No. 39) There There There
Mallard
Out Out Out Out
The Land of Nod
No. 44) Fantasia
Silent Night
Adeste Fidelis
Away in a Manger
The First Nowell
Fash is a Scottish slang word and being Scottish, I can't see it being relevant to the clue. We looked at this in the early days and discarded it as we couldn't think of a relevant phrase.
Got answers for the all except for 39.
19 is Christmas Hamper
35 is The Cricket on the Hearth
47 we think is Christmas Holiday
48 is St Stephen's Day (Look up "The Wren Hunt" on Google)
Hi Brokenbank, Hope you had a lovely christmas. Are you any nearer with 39?
I have searched till my fingers are sore and cannot find anything that relates to this at all.
I've been trying to figure out no. 39. I haven't done Dingbats before, and now I'm curious what the answer is. Will you put the answer on this thread when you find it?
This is a sneaky clue so Mallard could be a duck or drake or even locomotive or the fastest steam engine which doesn't bring anything Chrismassy to mind.
On another thread someone suggested train, but to me a train is a locomotive with rolling stock.
29 got me still not happy with any answer i came up with but was told 39 by a friend a bit late and was well peeved with myself for not asking her in the first place so much for the sorry crys of "I can't do dingbats!!!!"
