This is an example of why religion should be confined to the home and prevented from intruding into the wider, secular world, especially education.

Yes, it is regressive - sickeningly regressive. Mea Shearim is an area of Jerusalem where it is not unknown for foreign visitors - even married couples - to be abused, and to have stones thrown at them if they walk along the street holding hands. The irony is that these people and fundamentalist Muslims are so very similar in their beliefs - and they're all just as mad as each other.
Religion is a blight on humanity. These idiots are exemplars.
Hopefully their actions will turn more people away from religion completely. Too bad they breed like rabbits.

We had a controversy in Australia a few years ago.
A grandstand at a footy (rugby) field was long ago named the "N i g g e r B r o w n Stand" after a 1920s player who had the unfortunate nickname . They ended up demolishing it because it was too hard to deal with.
Apparently Coon Cheese is the next one because coon is a derrogatory name for an aboriginal australian. It was named for Edward Coon who invented the receipe.
