Secrets of the Trade
Last night my wife and I went to see an illusionist at the local theatre. He was really very good, with an impressive repertoire of tricks and stunts.
Being a small theatre, after the illusionist had finished his act, he joined us among a small group at the bar.
Having exchanged pleasantries, I congratulated him on his act – in particular a stunt involving many swords.
‘Tell me,’ I said. ‘How did you do that stunt with the swords – it was absolutely incredible.’
With a glint in his eye, he replied ‘I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you.’
‘Okay,’ I said. ‘Just tell my wife.’
