Next Great Series?

I'm watching my way through the 5 series of Alias at the mo.

When I get to the end, I'm going to be a bit lost.

Any suggestions for what to try next?

Someone I know has suggested Dexter, I think it was, which I hadn't heard of.

I enjoyed first three series of Dexter then felt that I'd had enough of it. Also enjoyed the first series of True Blood and didn't want to watch any more of that. The most enduring series that I have enjoyed have been Law & Order Special Victims Unit, House and Cracker, I'll happily watch those over and over again.

Mentalst can be funny I guess... I liked Liar Liar and Criminal Minds as well. But I forgot to keep watching them.
