mixing drinks....

Last week I went to a belated Xmas/birthday party..The only alcoholic drinks were wines from south america. When I helped the hostesss with bringing the glasses in the kitchen, I was surprised to find a bottle of vodka on the table. Jokingly I asked her if she intended to spike the coca cola cans and was shocked to hear that she was "fortifying" the wine with the vodka....when she saw the look on my face, she said that she was joking.....but I am not sure....if she had, would anyone have noticed???....your comments, please.

They would if they were expecting a £20 bottle

I hope she was joking as it's potentially a very dangerous and irresponsible thing to do - what about people who can't drink for any reason - medication, health conditions etc... Also people monitoring alcohol levels for driving and other good reasons.

I'd like to think I'd have noticed, depends how much and what kind and strength of vodka I guess.

Probably not. A very dangerous thing to do, I've had it once and would never do it to anybody.
