Tailor made paint mixing service
When you ask for paint colour to be specially mixed for you in places like Homebase, do they charge more than the same type of paint off the shelf?

I've used the Dulux website colour match service before now but if anyone else is planning to do so I'd recommend taking their suggested colour as a rough guide only, and getting the related colour charts to take back and check. I now have a slightly different brown colour on my front window where I had to cut/fill/sand the rot away than elsewhere on the frame. Had I not trusted the result I could have obtained a better match by eye.

Not here in the U.S. sort of... If you buy a custom mixed paint, it's one that is not available in a premixed, off the shelf color. So, the base is what one is buying and there's no cost difference for adding the colors. However, the base, plus coloration is usally higher in cost than a standard premixed paint. Usually (not always) the custom mix is a better quality than the premix-off the shelf variety.
