Just watched an interview on RTE with AWT, very impressed, no excuses, no trying to blame the past for his crime (as he called it).

Sat for 2 hours waiting for police (who were brilliant) to come.

I have nothing but admiration for the man who is struggling to understand why he did it

Fair cop guv. He might have carried on doing it sibton, now the wakeup faceup to it all begins. Not the first celeb to be caught. But he is man enough to stand up and admit it.

Yes missp, mark thought that they hadn't scanned and put them through twice

Have never used one of those scanners myself as if I thought I had scanned something and I hadn't, I'd be mortified if the alarm went off as I walked out through the doors.

strange I remember being 10 -12 and a couple of friends had taken to shoplifting magnums and the like (icecreams not big bottles of champagne)A lollipop fell into my pocket once in a garage NO way was I walking out of there put it right back,Wish I was a bit famous so I could excuse a few things I done since....

Just before xmas, put a trolley full through a manned till, got to the carpark and realised the two cards I'd put int the front of the trolley hadn't been paid for. I (literally) ran back in to pay for them. Thank god it wasn't tescos
