Would a deaf person from Italy and another from say Japan be able to converse normally in sign language (local slang colloquialisms excepted). IE is it an international language/ for of communication?

No barney, there's a different sign language in every country.

a lot of signed words can be easily understood by people with different languages, I used to work with a deaf woman and some signs are so obvious that even people who didnt know sign would be able to understand.... but i think its as boxy says
