aka Brett Marvin & The Thunderbolts .I'm going to see them tonight. Although they were a "one-hit wonder" they have consistently packed out local pubs and clubs for the last few decades.Real feel-good music. Its worth seeing them just for the zob-stick- an old boot on the end of a pole covered in beer-can tops.Rock 'n roll.

Thanks, but there's something about headbanger's video that I prefer
Yeah Jona Lewie was the singer, he was John Lewis in those days. They weren't a one hit wonder though, don't know where you got that from. The follow up was 'On A Saturday Night' only a small hit but it did chart. An absolute dead ringer for 'Seaside Shuffle'.
I recall they had a single with the word 'bop' in the title , too.

According to Wikipedia they had one other single "She left, I died" but effectively they were a one-hit wonder. I had a great time on Saturday night. They are still as good as ever. :)
As previously stated Headbanger, effectively NOT a one hit wonder. 'On A Saturday Night' no 45 in UK chart 1973, that makes 2 hits in the charts. Wikipedia must be having a brainfart or you've mis-read it. I have recorded the whole chart every week since 1970, it was a top 50 up to 1977 and has been a top 75 since then. I have every record to make the UK chart since then so I know what constitutes a 'hit'.

Sorry northernpopquiz, it wasn't my intention to contradict you and i accept that your musical knowledge is streets ahead of mine.As you can probably tell from my avatar, my interests lie more in listening to music. We do go to a music quiz once a year, but it is a very light-hearted affair to raise funds for a youth group.I never do very well.
No need to apologise Headbanger, I was just stating an obvious fact in chart terms. There's nothing annoys me more when they create TV shows or radio shows about one hit wonders and don't do their research. One hit wonder = one hit, simples. I also enjoy listening to music very much but I'm mad about Pop Quizzing too so put the two together. Perhaps when the youth group hold their next Pop Quiz you might invite me along, you might win this time. regards, Steve
The girls in the video are a bit gorgeous. I wonder what they look like now.

I suppose it depends on when the video was made. You Tube wasn't invented in 1972 was it? but judging by the quality of the video it's pretty ancient. Mind you Helen Mirren still looks hot and she's in her sixties.
