Money (That's What I Want) was written by Berry Gordy in about 1959 and first recorded by Barrett Strong, becoming a hit the following year on the Tamla (Motown) label. Numerous cover versions have been recorded over the years, by The Beatles, Josie and the Pussycats, The Flying Lizards, The Rolling Stones, The Kingsmen, The Supremes and The Miracles, to name but a few.
