If I am living with friends and unable to afford to pay them anything, am I eligible for any form of housing benefits. I am not working and don't claim JSA

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Can't really say for sure, but when claiming, ALL details of income into that house are taken into consideration, so not only would you need that info from whoever else is there, chances are it would be above the need to claim. In any case, I think the property needs to be in your name tenancy wise.

The letting must be on a commercial basis.
It must not be a contrived letting.
Your landlord should not be a close relation, an ex-partner or a parent of your child if you live with the landlord.
