Car slips out of 2nd gear.

I have recently bought an 08 Reg S40 Saloon(manual transmission) that slips out of 2nd gear when going down steep hill. Any ideas please. Regards

Sounds like it's got a dodgy gearbox. What did the mechanic say when you took it along to the garage to have it looked at...?

I have recently bought an 08 Reg S40, how long ago? Its either the selector on 2nd gear or there is something under the Gear Stick that is obstructing the 2nd gear move, I would take the car back & get them to look at it, is there any trouble with the other gears?
