can I rent out part of my garden as an allotment
My in-laws dug up 1/3 of my garden for an allotment and have now got bored of it. I just don't have time sadly to tend it but wondered if could rent it out locally. Are there any rules and regs about this?

Take time to get a proper lease drawn up, giving reasonable notice periods. It would be wrong to give one week's notice to quit just as the produce is ready for picking, for example.
Also make sure you clearly define access times. You may not want people in your garden on Sunday afternoons, or after 8pm, but similarly you must allow adequate access to allow for essential watering.
