I have had this popular orchid for a couple of years now, it has started growing buds again and has three stems. Its in quite a small pot and I know they like to be pot bound. However does it need repotting ? and should I use a see through pot ? Thanks all.

Be sure to use proper Orchid compost.
Maybe just go one size up and repot the whole root ball - packing new orchid potting compost down the sides. No reason to use a see through pot that I can think of.
yes use a see through pot as the roots also photosynthesize
I love orchids. Had my 11th orchid bought for me at christmas. One of them i have had for 5 years. They just keep growing and growing!
The growing instructions always recommend a transparent pot but I have some in a ceramic pot holder and they seem ok too.
here you are, check if your local garden centre stocks this.

Do you think it will grow OK if I leave it another year, or would you repot ? I did read somewhere that they like a see through pot (ah bless ..)
ill print your pic off and tomorrow ill ask one of the experts in the garden centre where i work.

As an aside to this, my orchid finished flowering but I thought I would leave the flower-stem attached to allow any 'goodness' in it to return to the plant. Glad I did now as there are three new shoots coming off the original stem as well as a completely new stem. Looking forward to a bumper crop of flowers this time round.

Same is mine sid, they last forever !
the experts at the garden centre where i work said it needs repotting in a slightly larger pot, "the next size up".
