Considering the anonymity that one has on the Internet, or can have if you choose to, I suspect a ban would be unenforceable or too difficult/costly to enforce. Besides I'm unsure it would help anyway. Allowing use of the Internet may even help authorities keep an eye on them.

Meanwhile the punishment for the crime was given, and anyone who has paid their debt to society should be allowed to go on with their lawful activity.

If he is not subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order that prevents him from using an online device, yes he should.
I reluctantly agree that he should be able to twit, but as rowan has stated, the responses will hopefully drive him away.
It would be impossible to have a world wide ban on paedophiles accessing the internet because the age of consent differs from country to country.
Shouldnt be allowed to breathe the same air as normal folks
as others have said - yes - wait and see what sort of tweets he gets, I bet they won't be flattering.

Yes many years ago he fetched a broken PC into PC world and complained he could no longer view images on the laptop.
He then instructed the staff they must not open the files , because they were private.
So i would imagine the IT staff in PC World then made it a mission to be able to view the pictures.
DOH !
Every second he spends twittering is another second he's not abusing children...
@Nomercy - Depends how he uses Twitter.

Get the police to pose as a kid and wind him in ...

I should imagine he's being tightly monitored anyway, SIRandy. Certainly hope so...
