cwhy is having a clear out so hard?

So i'm having a clear out of all the things I never use or wear, sticking things on eBay to get extra cash and have a clear out. However, even though I haven't worn half the things in years I find myself thinking 'oooh I like this' or 'oooh that will go lovely with these shoes' & the clear out turns into me reviewing all my old things, admiring them and moving on to more things. I can't seem to part with things. How do people do it? Am I the only one who does this?

Beveridge111 - don't keep things for 'good'. When you buy something, wear it! When you need something 'good' just buy something new. Life's too short to keep things hanging around with tags on 'just in case'. Here endeth the lesson lol.

Do any of you ABers have a local Freegle site that you could use. Always amazed at what folks want - and want to get rid of. Have given away rolls of wallpaper, half tins of paint, potting compost, doors, toys etc. Have been given shoe rack, laptop bag, booster seat, kid's bike etc. There is always someone out there looking for the most unlikely items. A crafter even came and took away all my old Christmas cards!

There is another passing around website called freecycle and don't forget gumtree.

If we have bits of furniture, we just leave it out in the street with a "please take" notice on - someone always does - that's how I got my peacock chair, a few years back!
