I have removed the old nicad cells easily enough. I would like to replace them with nimh ones to avoid the 'memory effect' problems of nicads. I was wondering if anyone has done this already? and if so, whre they got the new batteries from? I have Googled a few places, but so far the batteries look more expensive than a new Dustbuster!

I had a cheap cordless screwdriver that was same voltage batteries and used them.
You could use standard NiMH rechargeable AA types, probably 2000 or 2100 milliamphour types (or higher) in a holder and solder it in, the space left by the old battery pack is actually quite large.
