range phone bill bizarre
1 Answers
I was recently looking on my orange app on my phone and noticed that it said -£72.11 on the overall balance, where for everything else like texts, talktime, internet etc it says £0 for each as I have stayed within my limits.
It states my next bill will be £11.22 which sounds about right.
I was dubious about this -£72.11 figure as I didn't know what it was. I rang orange and the lady said that it was basically due to an over payment of £83.33 and the -£72.11 was going to be refunded, which I found very odd as £83.33 hasn't come out of my account and I also pay direct debit, and have done for as long as I've paid monthly.I explained this to the lady and she could see that I had a direct debit set up. She asked me to confirm the long number on the card I have linked with direct debit and it wasn't matched to the card that had paid this initial £83.33.(STRANGE). The lady asked me if I had any cards ending with the 4 numbers she read out and unsuprisingly, I didn't. This must have been the card used to pay this bill.
The lady said she was going to refund the £72.11 onto the card used and I will pay the normal monthly bill as usual. I said I'll keep my eye on it and left it at that.
I am baffled as to how this happened. Has anyone heard of this kind of thing happening before?
I hope I don't lose any money in all of this
