I signed as guarantor for 6month tennancy agreement can I get out of this after 6 months?

You only signed for the 6 months. After that time has passed you are out of it.
i dont think thats true sandy - as long as the tennency continues
Read the tenancy agreement and get a copy for your records. If it's a Short Assured Tenancy then it might become a rolling agreement after the initial 6 months. If it is then you are probably liable till the tenant hands their notice in and leaves, probably a 1 month notice. This is the danger time as most tenants don't pay their last months rent thinking that the deposit will take care of it, which it does but thats not the principle of the deposit.
