I feel like that if I take all the children shopping - feel like I am getting death stares from everyone else!
In situations such as this people tend to imagine the reaction of onlookers to be much the same as their own would be.
You are as entitled to use the P.O. services as the others who were queueing.
Thank the Lord I wasn't behind you tinks - think I would have lost the will to live but needs must.
Our post office let me leave all my parcels with them to process throughout the day and to go back to pay later on. If you're a regular there you should ask of you can do the same.
I am the one normally stuck in the queue behind. Don't worry they are glad enough to take your money and its not your fault they are understaffed. Typical Post Office.
Just tell yourself this 'If they didn't want to queue behind me, then they should have got here before me'
I was a bit the other way round earlier.

There was a long queue, as usual, for reception in the doctors but there was quite a bit of chat seemed to be going on and they didn't have a separate window for appointment booking in as they often do when busy, was praying I'd get to the front to book in for my appointment and get a wee sample pot discretely to sort that before I was called and then the nurse came out and called me in early from across the room so I ended up saying to her across the waitingroom I was waiting for a sample pot! I was a bit past caring by that point though haha! Just wanted to sit down.

Hahahahh i wont lie id probs be the queuer or worker saying which did that stupid beech wait till the last hour LOL!!

When i worked in the sunbeds and it shut at 10 and someone came for a 10m bed at 10 to 10 i could have punched them hahaha xx
tinkerbell, You can print and pay for the postage/address labels on ebay ,then you can just leave them on the counter at the post office. I see people doing this when I go to the post office. Also in our town there is a Royal Mail sorting office with a public counter, again you can print postage/ address on ebay and just leave them at the sorting office.
What you do sell by the way, I thought I was doing well on eBay but I rarely sell 18 items in 2 months never mind a day !
Our PO limits parcels to 10 - there was one woman in before Xmas with 47 parcels - can you imagine the bill on that, and this wasn't e-bay/business shipments...
I don't like the postage labels though, Eddie - I like to make sure I've paid enough, and I always get a proof of posting - how would you do that if you print your own labels?
PS - The PO where I go regularly has queues like that, mostly the man from the toyshop next door leaving piles of parcels to be weighed later!
Been there, done that but I was in the queue behind the uncomprehending junkie who had a query which needed to be addressed to the DWP.
If you're going to put post offices at the back of Spar stores instead of the proper buildings designed for the job there are always going to be foreseen but affordable problems.

Clothes usually! Anything i no longer use! Have made £100-£300 a time sometimes!!!!!!

It is a wee rubbishy PO...but needs must!! I considered buying stamps but i ha one or two recorded so i had to queue and i feel better if people are paying me for postage that i do it properley xx
I felt the same at the dentist last week. The receptionist asked me to fill in a more up to date medical questionaire while she worked out my appointments. I took a while to fill in at the same time agreeing to the appointments she was making for me. By this time there was a queue behind me and I felt all the stares boring into my back, and I was feeling a bit flustered. Fortunately the other receptionist came back on duty before we finished.
Our local post office is very good , regulars can leave the paid for parcels and go back later or the next day and collect the proofs of posting. You do need to weigh them accurately with all packing so as to get the postage right, buyers would soon leave bad feedback if they got charged for underpaid postage.
I don't do it myself but rarely have more than 1 or 2 to post.

Also when a queue in shop or at ATM and you are trying to grt cards or money into ur purse or bag and you get flustered. !
Hate that..

I do hate people who wait untill theyre told how much before they then go to their bag, fish for purse or wallet etc to pay!!!! I always have mines ready!

Same with waiting at the car till keys are dug out! Grr x
me too with the shopping, tinks - ggrr to supermarket shoppers who carefully pack everything away befoe they even start looking for their purse....
Have you ever chosen a short queue in the supermarket only to find that the customer has sent friends/relatives/whoever to get other items and is waiting for them to come back with the goodies before she (and it's always a she) can pay?
