Right, not getting anywhere with the flipping crossword so I am now thinking about doing some sort of craft thing. Obviously don't want to spend a fortune (patience is not my strong point) so has anyone got any ideas on where I should start or a kit I could buy? PS - not at all artistic so it would have to be a by-numbers type thing and I don't own a sewing machine, don't want to any food type thing as 1 - cooker is temperamental, 2 - need to be able to stop doing 'whatever' the thing is at the drop of a hat.

If you have lots of things you want to keep how about scrap booking some craft shops do lessons in this and cardmaking (many of the techniques are similar)

If you do giant cross stitch on that 'school fabric (binca) you can use ordinary cheap knitting wool and just do stripes of random widths and shades of one or two colours... they look great and are quite quick to do. Wish you lived near me I could let you have some to start off with
