Very slim possibility and not for a few years yet..but..
I work for a company that has a contract at a site in N.Yorks. I have a chance of relocating towns within commutable distance are Whitby, Scarborough or Pickering. How the areas compare house price wise and 'nice area' wise?
Looking at the coastal towns they seem to be more expensive to buy. Pickering seems nice. Theres also somewhere called Guisborough, but it may be too far out.
All of these places are beautiful. N Yorks is delightful. Pickering is a small inland market town, Whitby a small ex fishing town popular with tourists, Scarborough slightly bigger and more of a holiday resort.
Guisborough is another market town, much furthehr north and a commuter town for Middlesborough.
Can only comment "nice area" wise as I don't live there and no idea of prices.
