Mildew on VHS Cassetees

Some of my old VHS videos have developend mildew which damages the VCR tape heads. I can get the VCR working by running a head-cleaner through, but how can I clean the mildew-affected tapes?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.To be honets i think you may have to give up the ghost on them...I had a couple like that and they damaged the heads of the VCR...had to have the heads professionally cleaned...the repair shop said the video cassette itself was 'infected' with mildew or something like that and it is almost impossible to clean them...he said I could try some very gentle cleaning cloths but the amount of tape in a standard 3 or 4 hour tape would make it too long to do...just hope anything you had on there can be recorded again...if it's your wedding tape...think it's a gonner...sorry
