Hi

I'm asking the question for my 19 year old brother.

He is currently in part-time college & looking for part time work but isn't having any luck. Is there any sort of benefit he can claim for? His college is quite far away and has to pay petrol/bus fares/ train fares (unsure how he gets to college)

Many Thanks

Thank you v much
For jobseekers allowance (JSA) you have to be available for work, seeking work and have entered into a jobseekers agreement & not be a full time student. The DWP may try to say that as a student he is not eligible, but you say he is a part time student.
If he is disabled, responsible for a child or is a partner of a non-student the situation may be different, have a go at claiming JSA.
