Yes, it's true. And a urine sample and blood tests.

Not true.....no needles are pushed into the urethra.

Swabs are inserted "gently" but NO needles.
But I dont think youll be able to tell me that I wont get the needle when my micturition problems are investigated, will you, sqad?
mallam....needles in a vein for blood tests is completely different from sticking a needle in your urethra.

I cannot think of any investigation that a needle in the urethra is indicated.

these days its a self swab...u insert it...its tiny..and not far up...stick it in the little tub and hand it to the nurse....x
Well sqad what I am going for is a follow-up to a (wrong) diagnosis of interstitial cystitis. It's probably just the standard prostate aggro. When I said 'get the needle' I was of course being facetious, but what would you call the urethroscope? A cannula? A probe? A curling iron?
No needles in the urethra but you will get a blood test. Some places put a Qtip into there but they don't need to anymore. They can get the same results with a simple urine test.
