I had this on pre-order from Amazon, due to be released November 2011. The date was then postponed to March 2012. It has now been postponed again to November 2012. Does anyone know why the release date keeps changing?

It's usually because the label have moved other releases forward in the schedules, and don't want to jam the market with albums which reduces impact i.e. sales, for all concerned.

Thanks andy. This seems to be based on the assumption that customers will only buy one CD at a time which seems strange. I will certainly appreciate it when it is eventually released!

It's not just the public who are an issue though Headbanger.

Promotional budgets rely on saturating print media, tv, radio, internet, and so on and so forth, in order to push a new release. There is only so much space in any media to promote new releases, so in order to avoid an overload, and therefore some releases receiving less attention, the record labels will prioritise their guarenteed big sellers, and 'bump' others back in the schedules, hence the several promised, and then delayed release dates.

Enjoy your album when you eventually get it!

Isn't Leona Lewis a "guaranteed big seller" any more? Or did she make so much money from her first two albums that she is still living off the interest.

She has a certain market, but the nature of the music industry is that they are always looking for the 'next big thing' which is a position Leona no longer holds - so they will put their biggest pushes behind whom ever they reckon will hoover up the most sales and downloads. i have no idea who that is - if I did, I would be posting this from my private island in the Carribean!
